We work with over 800 local carers and the people they care for, supporting people of all ages and disabilities, providing carers with essential breaks from the stresses of caring. A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends whose health or wellbeing could suffer without this help.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to provide support in our Day centres.
Day Centre Volunteers are an essential and valued part of our team. They work alongside our experienced health care professionals and contribute to the individualised, holistic client care provided.
There is a real team spirit at the Day Centres, and we provide a supportive environment to ensure you get the most out of your time with us by helping to greet and settle Clients on arrival, and listen and chat and interact with them during their stay.
You will work with staff members to organise and deliver activities and entertainments such as creative games and quizzes, and assist with serving refreshments and hot meals.
The role is varied because it involves supporting clients with a variety of disabilities and needs. Volunteers will therefore gain a wealth of experience in all areas relating to health and social care.

At Carers Trust East midlands, we have spent years looking out for carers, those unsung heroes who give up their lives to look after a loved one. We aim to support unpaid carers across the City and County of Nottingham to make new friendships and maintain old ones and have a life outside their caring role.

Brinsley Day Centre - Brinsley Parish Hall Cordy Lane

Open: Monday and Saturday 10:00am - 4:00pm
Toton Day Centre - Coronation Hall, Portland Road, Toton, NG9 6LS Open Thursday 10:00am - 4:00pm
Induction & Training
-Volunteers are supported with a comprehensive induction session before commencement. The training will be relevant to your voluntary role and provide the opportunity to gain valuable skills.
-It is a requirement for all volunteers working with vulnerable adults and children to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check at an enhanced level.
-We reimburse travel costs and cover DBS check expenses
