Procurement Category Manager - Fixtures & Fittings
Procurement category manager for Fixtures and Fittings. Exciting divisional role in the Property, Logistics and FM team primarily focused on commercial responsibility for consolidation centre and industry leading projects such as Store of the Future and Beauty Reinvention. In-depth understanding / experience of fixtures and fittings in retail space and the industry is desirable.
Project manages work-streams and initiatives within the category to ensure timely delivery of objectives, ensuring all necessary Stage Gate processes, including formal stakeholder approvals are completed
Leads the development, implementation and ongoing management of procurement Level 3 category strategies at a local, regional or group-wide level for a portfolio of goods and services in line with Group Procedures.
Works with stakeholders (functional, procurement and supplier), to develop strategy and tactics for procurement category and initiatives and provides thought leadership
identifies, creates and implements initiatives to maximize value and ensure ongoing management of supplier contracts and relationships
Oversees contracts to ensure all obligations are fulfilled, risks are mitigated and contracts remain valid throughout their lifecycle. Holds internal organisation and suppliers to account for their actions
A bit about you
Education and Experience - Bachelors degree and at least 4 years of relevant procurement experience is preferred. Expertise in each aspect of the procurement lifecycle and professional procurement best practices. Intermediate experience and competence in all Microsoft platforms.
Industry Experience - Experience of fixtures and fittings in the retail industry and prior experience in large retail organisations.
Project Management - project manages initiatives and other work to schedule managing risk, opportunities, resources and costs to achieve the right outcome, on cost and on schedule. Manages competing priorities and is able to deliver on multiple tasks. Ambitious in their plans but pragmatic in delivery
Commercial - Commercially astute and savvy operator. Actively seeks ways to streamline business processes researches and acts upon information on industry category trends and best practices. Leverages commercial expertise to optimize project design and minimize project duration and cost. Familiar with and utilizes multiple financial models (e.g. total cost of ownership, net present value) to assess commercial options and risks.
Stakeholder Management operates at multiple levels within the organisation and with suppliers, challenges, holds to account, effectively influences others in their way of thinking, is sensitive to stakeholders challenges and is able to take people with them forms effective relationships. Expert in collaborating with internal and external resources to develop initiatives that meet departmental goals within budget and established timelines. Shares with passion, their vision and ambition for procurement and their categories they influence and inspire others to engage and participate.
