A plant technician Foreman is required to supervise & assist the site manager with all daily operations on site and to ensure we have all critical spares for the machine to minimise downtime at all times. In addition they will be responsible for the acceptance and completing of all paperwork for waste coming to site, also to deal with any non-conformances arising from the waste whilst ensuring we are adhering to our site permit , procedures and that we are keep compliant at all times. They will also be trained on how to operate the plant equipment so that they can cover any holiday or sick days required from site operatives. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1 To assist the Site Manager on daily operations on site whilst maintaining the waste onsite sheet and process efficiency sheet at all times and setting machine parameters for efficient processing and Routine machine maintenance. 2 Supervising both teams (forklift truck driver) and any agency staff. 3 Determining waste to be processed during the shift & ensuring maximum volume is processed in a safe and efficient manner and Overseeing the de-packaging of aerosols & assisting if required. 4 To Carry out compatibility test for bulk solvent as per procedure. 5 Monitoring of gas oil, LPG & nitrogen levels & requesting reordering when necessary. 6 Ensuring waste is processed in compliance with site licence & working plan, Monitoring production of Steel, aluminium, liquid & LPG to go off site & requesting arrangement of transport, General housekeeping & other duties as required. 7 Ensuring that we adhere to all our health & safety procedures , SSOW, risk assessments and report all near miss or Haz spots in line with our KPIs which stem from Biffas BBP. NATURE AND SCOPE To ensure the site is able to service its customers in a professional, compliant and timely manner. This is achieved by ensuring the reception bays are emptied asap, the material for bulking and repacking is completed in a timely manner and high housekeeping standards are maintained. The job holder is required to perform pre-use checks and report defects on all plant and equipment used on site.
